It’s no secret that Autumn is my favorite season, but the last several years have been a little weird for me. You see, I’m not in school anymore. Autumn used to signify the beginning of a new school year, but that part of my life is over. One of the biggest things I always loved about Fall is school supplies shopping, picking out a new school wardrobe (OK, not a whole wardrobe, but we always got a few new things), and gearing up for the exciting school year ahead. Each year brought something new and another reason to want to get up and go to school. Maybe I was starting middle school, high school, or college for the first time. Maybe I was finally no longer a Freshman and the lowest of the low. Or maybe I was starting my Senior year and ready to rule the school. Whatever it was, I was ready for Autumn!
Now I know most schools have been in session for several weeks now, but I wanted to put my 2 cents in on the “Back to School Essentials” bandwagon. You could maybe say I miss going back to school. Maybe. And I want to contribute in some way. Even if it is several weeks late.

Back to School Essentials:
New Clothes and Shoes
So as I said, mew clothes and shoes were one of my favorite parts of going back to school. There are always clearance sales on summer items and the new fall stuff is already out. Love! Right now there are some great deals on clothes and shoes for all ages on Zulily. Of course, there are always great deals on clothes and shoes and everything else you can think of on Zulily. It’s is a daily deal site and they have some of the cutest clothes for kids and adults. And some other fun and practical things too!
Cute School Supplies
I am a sucker for school supplies. I always wanted the latest Lisa Frank folders and notebooks growing up. Now I get the boring office supplies that my company provides for work related things. So I have to get creative with planners and pens. May Designs has some CUTE planners and notebooks. I mean these are to die for. And you can customize them. I don’t actually have one of my own, but maybe I’ll get one as my 2015 planner!
Hottest Makeup Trends and MOISTURIZERS
There are always some new trends in makeup and beauty for each season just like there are in clothing. Although, in my opinion, you can get away with wearing mostly the same makeup year-round. However, as the weather cools off, my skin always seems to get real dry. So when Fall rolls around, I always try to stock up on lotions and moisturizers. I’ve written before about how much I love the Vaseline brand of petroleum jelly, lotion, and lip balm. But as far as a facial moisturizer goes, I LOVE Trader Joe’s Nourish Oil-Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer. Y’all, this stuff feels so good. It’s easy on my skin and it keeps my skin soft and moisturized all day.
Healthy Snacks
Another important thing to stock up on for back to school and for Fall in general is healthy snacks. The kids will probably be packing their lunches and you want something easy to grab but still healthy. Or if they buy lunch at school, they still going to come home from school looking for something to snack on. As we move towards the Autumn and Winter months, it’s harder to find healthy snacks like fresh fruit and vegis. How does it sound to have healthy and yummy snacks sent to you door every 2 weeks or once a month? Enter Graze. For only $6 per box (and that’s good for a subscription box) you get 4 different yummy snacks delivered right to your mailbox! You can go log in to your account and tell them what you like and don’t like and you can specify if you want a low calorie box or not. And you can change these preferences at any time during your subscription! I received my first box last week and LOVED everything in it. You can use the code PN3XYGYMP when you sign up and get your first and fifth box for just $1.00 each.
Team Apparel
And last but not least, for back to school everybody needs some team apparel. Fall and a new school year brings with it a new football season. You gotta represent your team in style! If you live in the state of your favorite team then you will have no problem finding a plethora of paraphernalia in any store you walk in right now. At least that’s the case for the Buckeyes in Columbus. But you run into a problem when you are a Georgia Bulldogs fan and your Husband a Miami Hurricanes fan living in Columbus, Ohio. I have ordered countless items from fanatics.com. They have any item you can think of representing any team you can think of, pro or college, all in one place! They also have swag for MLB, NBA, NHL, Soccer, Olympics, and NASCAR if that’s what you’re into. Last year I think I ordered 4 or 5 Christmas presents from them for family members who support different teams. It’s great!
So there you have it. My back to school/beginning of Fall essentials. What would you add to my list?
