Weekly Couple Check-Ins (with a FREE Cheat Sheet)

Weekly Couple Check-Ins (with a FREE Cheat Sheet)

It’s never been a secret on my blog that Pearson works a ton. He works 70-80 hours per week. Not only that but his hours aren’t regular. A lot of times I don’t know what time he’ll be home until he calls me on the way home. It’s tough but we make it work.

One way we make it work is by making weekly date nights a priority. We don’t always plan them out too far in advance, and sometimes plans have to change somewhat last minute, but we always make sure we’ve set aside time each week for each other.

One of our favorite monthly dates is Date Box. They send us an entire date in a box and takes all the planning out of it. Another classic is dinner and a movie, of course. We just saw Captain America: Civil War on Thursday and there are a lot of great movies coming out this year. We especially love going to the drive in theater. The drive in near us shows 2 current movies for $9 per person!

So why am I telling you all this? Because a big part of our date night every week is a “couple check-in” and I want to share with you, how it has improved our relationship.

I am the type of person that doesn’t typically like to share my feelings. It just doesn’t come naturally to me. But with our “weekly couple check-ins” it’s easier for me to open up. We have some questions we ask each other every week which helps break the ice and makes sharing easier for me. These questions give me a starting point and I know that Pearson will answer as well.

Sometimes it just seems easier to let things go and ignore little things that make me mad. But it’s so important to communicate in a relationship and these questions have helped for sure.

Pearson and I have a check-in cheat sheet that we often use on our weekly date nights (or if we don’t get around to it on date night, we find time during the week at some point). Anyway, I want to share that cheat sheet with you!
