Sometimes it’s hard to be thankful for what you have. Especially when life isn’t going how you planned or you seem to constantly be put in situations that test your faith. It’s easy to concentrate on the negative. That’s always been the case for humans everywhere. The bad stuff stands out in our minds. My friend, Heather just wrote a post about this on Tuesday and I couldn’t have said it better myself. Let’s all start making a conscious effort to focus on the positive things in life and be thankful for the things we do have. You can start right here by blogging about what you’re thankful for and linking up on the last Thursday of every month.
This month I am oh so thankful for friendship! I am thankful I have friends from my youth group growing up, from college, from Georgia, from Ohio, and from blogging. Friends are so important to have in your life. They truly are God’s way of taking care of us.
Friends are the people who cry with you when you’re sad. They will just sit with you and be with you if you need it. Like when Canon passed away last month, all of us friends spent the whole weekend together. We didn’t do anything exciting. It certainly wasn’t a fun occasion. But we were together the whole time. We supported each other.
Friends are the people you spend time with laughing your brains out, making memories, and enjoying each other’s company. You go to baseball games and amusement parks with them. Or you just hang out and watch Frozen for the fourth fourteenth time.
Friends are the people who challenge you to be a better person spiritually, physically, and mentally. They push you in a loving way. You have monthly devotionals’s and sing nights outside of your bible classes where you can really open up, get to know each other on a deeper level, and pray for each other.
Friends are the people you always hate to say goodbye to. When you’re apart there is a little part of you missing.
I am so thankful for friends! I am thankful for every single person on this earth who I can call my friend and I know that God put us in each other’s lives to help each other grow.
