#TheKidsNeedToKnow

I saw this amazing video the on Friday and I wanted to share my thoughts.
Isn’t Kid President great? He and his crew are using their talents to spread love through the internet. If you don’t know Kid President {if any of you still exist}, CLICK HERE to watch some more of his videos. Especially his PEP TALK video which went viral last year.

At the end of the above video {if any of you didn’t take the time to watch it}, Kid President asks us to share some things that the kids need to know. Everybody has someone younger than them watching and learning from their actions. We need to be careful in what we do and say. Here’s what I think.

Kids need to know…
  1. This world is a big place, but don’t be overwhelmed. Like Kid President said, you aren’t alone. We are all trying to make it through together.
  2. If it feels like you have nobody on your side, it’s because we want you to learn from your mistakes. If you rely on us to carry through life, you will never be your own person.
  3. Everybody makes mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Take the situation as an opportunity to learn and be better next time.
  4. Justin Timberlake {or any celebrity} is a person just like you. You are worth just as much as he is. You put your pants on the same way as everyone else every morning, so don’t compare yourself to anyone else’s success.
  5. You can make a difference in this world. All you gotta do is love. Even when someone doesn’t deserve it, “treat them like it’s their birthday” just like Kid President said.
  6. Other people will bully you. It’s life. But don’t return the favor. “Kill them with kindness” instead.
  7. Help other’s when they need it. Wouldn’t you want them to do that for you? You are not too busy.
  8. Tell your loved ones that you love them. It’s not always natural to say, but make it a habit early.
  9. Don’t worry about what other people think about you. Are you happy? Are you doing what you can to love other’s like Christ did? That’s all that matters.
  10. And lastly, you are awesome!
What do you thing #thekidsshouldknow? Tweet it! Instagram it! Get it out there. Or better yet, tell the kids that look up to you. Tell them in person.
