I’m gonna be honest with you guys. When Pearson got into The Ohio State University for grad school and then decided to go there for sure, I wasn’t too crazy about the idea of living in Columbus. His last two options were Florida State and Ohio State. While I am not a huge fan of the state of Florida, the idea of living in the Great White North was even less appealing. There were many many factors that went into our decision, but alas, we ended up in Columbus. And I am so glad we did!
I love Columbus because…
- The size of the city is perfect. Not too big or small.
- The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!)
- Lynd’s Fruit Farm
- The Ohio Theater (Where we saw Wicked)
- We attend a wonderful church with great people
- Piada Italian Street Food
- Red, White, and Boom
- There are lots of community theaters. We have seen several productions of Shakespeare in the Park and Worthington Community Theater
- They know how to clear the roads of snow, unlike they did in Georgia and Arkansas.
- Skyline Chili
- Columbus Zoo and Aquarium (Only the best zoo in the US) and Zoombezi Bay.
- They play country music all the time here. Even though it is not the South! (this is something I was worried about before coming here)
- Jeni’s Splendid Ice cream
- Fall is BEAUTIFUL here.
- Easton Town Center (especially at Christmas)
- Donatos
- COSI (Center of Science and Industry- We haven’t been there but we keep wanting to)
- German Villiage is a cute little neighborhood where not many of the buildings have changed since Germans settled there many years ago. (We love Schmidts, Schiller Park, and The Book Loft)
- Half Price Books
- South Drive-In
What do you love about your city? Or, if you live in Columbus, what should I add to my list?
Thanks for reading!
