Well folks, today is my birthday! I’m pretty psyched about it. Except for the fact that I turn 24 today. 24?! I can’t be. Now, I am not saying 24 is old by any means. It just sounds weird to say that I am 24, you know? Anyway, I don’t think we are doing anything special today. We may do something this weekend to celebrate. But I am excited to host some girls from the Harding Chorus in our home tonight after the preform at Church tonight! Oh and we have kept our Christmas decorations up till my birthday because I was away for work for a whole week in December and didn’t get to enjoy them.
Anyway, on to a post I’ve had planned for a long time. Since I turn 24 today, I thought I would share 24 things about me that you might not know. Here we go…
- I hold the Georgia state record in bench pressing for girls age 14 to 15 in the 123lbs weight class. Sadly, now I probably couldn’t bench the bar… Also sadly, I would definitely not fit in that weight class anymore…
- I hate mushrooms and olives.
- I know the words to many, many songs, but I cannot tell you who sings them or the title of the song. It’s like a curse!
- I love driving., especially on interstates. Therefore, I actually enjoy long road trips, which is good because we live so far away from all of our family!
- I love musicals (though I don’t think this is a secret).
- I like to read and I wish I could read faster because there are so many great books out there and I don’t have all the time in the world.
- I played softball from the time I was 8 until I was 18. I went to two world series tournaments. One of which we finished in the top 10%. In the other one, we won “Best Dressed” in the opening ceremony. Too bad I couldn’t find a picture of the outfit.
- I played collegiate women’s ultimate frisbee in college. Go Abbatoir!
- My biggest pet peeves include; biting fingernails, crowded grocery stores, grammar mistakes, and people who claim to LOVE a movie series but have never read the books (Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Chronicles of Narnia… The list goes on).
- Kay Robertson is my role model. I admire her and want to be a loving, Christian wife and mother by her example.
- I love big cities.
- My 3 favorite actresses are Helena Bonham Carter, Julie Andrews, and Jennifer Lawrence. They probably couldn’t be more different from each other.
- I am the first person in my family to live above the Mason-Dixon line for as far back as anyone can remember.
- I am addicted to coffee.
- I have seen every episode of Full House at least 4 times. I am not exaggerating.
- I hate sneezing.
- I keep clothing items for way too long before I finally try to give them away. Usually the people I give them to don’t even want them because they are so old.
- I actually HATE spending money. I only buy things I need. Though I’ll admit, sometimes I alter my definition of the word, ‘need’, but usually even then I talk myself out of it.
- I love country music.
- I have only been out of the country twice. Once on a mission trip to Nicaragua in 2008, and the other time on our honeymoon in The Bahamas in 2012.
- I am a Solitaire pro. Seriously, I play it all the time. It is certainly an addiction.
- I LOVE weddings. I have teared up during the brides processional of every wedding I have ever been to. No joke.
- I currently have a woman crush on Idina Menzel. She is DA BOMB!!
- I am allegedly related to Mary Todd Lincoln (Abraham Lincoln’s wife) through my mom’s side of the family.
