Wedding Series: The Weekend

Wedding Series: The Weekend

I have been wanting to do a wedding series for a long time but just never got around to it or figured out how I wanted to do it. I am so excited to finally get started. Lets see where this takes us, shall we?

I thought I would start by recapping the weekend excluding the actual event. This was one of the best weekends of my life. I enjoyed every minute and never once stopped long enough to think about and stress over the wedding. I have my wonderful bridesmaids to thank for that!

The first thing I did on Thursday night was pick up 3 of my bridesmaids from the airport. Their flights were really late and it was raining. I had another bridesmaid with me. We finally got to the airport and one of the girls’ flight was delayed even more so we waited for at least an hour just hanging out in the airport. It was a blast! [No, that is not sarcastic]. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of this night.

Friday we got up and went to my grandma’s house for the bridesmaids’ brunch where I gave them all their bridesmaids gifts.

All my beautiful bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids and flower girls!
About to open the gifts!
I got them teddy bears that say “Charlene’s Flower Girl 7/14/2012” and tiaras to wear in the wedding.

Then we headed straight to the nail salon.

Everybody knew which one was the bride. No doubt about that!
Scoping out the colors!

We barely had time to change before the rehearsal.

Everybody lined up
Practicing our song.

And the rehearsal dinner was fantastic.

Both of our brothers giving a speech at the dinner. It was hilarious!
And my grandma had to put her funny two cents in too!

After everything was over, I went home to put some stuff away before hanging out with my girls. I hadn’t seen Pearson at all since everything started. He was helping me put things in the car so I asked him to come to the house with me just to get to spend some time together before we went our separate ways for the last time before we became husband and wife. That time was so special to me. It is hard to explain why, but for some reason this is my favorite memory of the whole weekend.

Then I headed to the hotel room for some party time on my last night as a bachelorette! We ate lots of yummy goodies, painted our toe nails, watched a movie and sang praises to God.

Saturday, we got to sleep in. I actually slept surprisingly well. Probably because I was so exhausted from all the festivities. We girls went to Olive Garden for lunch then headed to the church building for hair and makeup, but I will save that for another post.

How was your wedding weekend? Did you stress out the whole time or did you get to enjoy it?
Thanks for reading and be looking for more installments every Friday this month!
