Personal Goals for November // The Creative Closet

Pants: Plato’s Closet || Shirt: OLD || Cardigan: Stitch Fix || Scarf: Gift || Shoes: Gift

I’m linking up with The Creative Closet again today because the prompt is “The Colors of Fall” and I thought these purple pants would be perfect. Unfortunately, they look more blue than purple in these pictures. But that’s okay. I still love them and I think the scarf ties in perfectly. Don’t you just love fall fashion? I sure do!

Okay can I get real with you guys? I’m a bit overwhelmed by the fact that it’s November. Like, where did 2015 go? Is it just me or do the years seem to be getting shorter and shorter? I know I sound cliche, but I really just can’t believe there are only 2 more months of the year.

Pip decided to join me in my photo shoot!
However, I am so very excited for the holidays. Halloween is my favorite holiday, but Thanksgiving and Christmas have gotten more exciting for me in recent years and I now look forward to them. So, while the fact that today is November 3rd is unbelievable, it is a very good thing!
We’re besties!
But enough of my rambling. The point of this post is personal goals. Now, I usually recap how I did on my goals from last month, but I’m going to skip that part this month because I really didn’t meet any of them and sort of gave up. Well, I didn’t really give up, but I kept finding excuses – some of which were pretty legitimate. October was busy. And I lost all motivation.

But! Pearson and I spent the weekend in a cabin in the woods in fellowship with some wonderful people who spoke life back into me. I am determined to be better in every aspect of my life this month.

Spiritual:
This month, I am going to finish reading the book of Acts using the SOAK method and other Good Morning Girls resources. I plan to get up and study before work, but if I miss a day, I will find time later in the day to get to it.

Physical:
I will do the day’s workout from the November Blogilates calendar at least every week day. And I will record EVERYTHING I eat on My Fitness Pal. I haven’t done that in a while.

When we’re in Valdosta for Thanksgiving (and the 2 full days of traveling), I’m not going to be too hard on myself, but I’m not going to just throw everything away either. I’ll do some yoga and go on long walks. Maybe I’ll even be able to convince Pearson and/or some other family to walk with me. And I will simply keep what I eat in mind, recording it all on My Fitness Pal.

Mental:
At the beginning of this year, I set a resolution to read 15 books in 2015, five of which would be non-fiction. This is the only resolution I still have a chance at meeting, so I’m determined. I have read 11 books and 3 of them have been non-fiction. That may seem like not very much to you, but I’m a somewhat slow reader and this blog takes up a lot of time on top of a full-time job, taking care of my home, and an entire summer taken up with Music Man rehearsals :). Anyway, this means I have 4 books to go and 2 of them must be non-fiction.

So… This month I will read One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voscamp and Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl. And in December, I plan to read Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling and The Princess Bride by William Goldman.

Blog Goals:
This month, I plan to work like crazy on my Pinterest game. Pinterest is such an important tool for bloggers and yet I’ve sort of been ignoring it. I recently joined boardbooster so I plan to use that to start scheduling pins and organize my boards. I’m also going to spend some time creating “pinable” images for old posts.

I’m also going to work on my Instagram game using Helene’s course, Instagram for Success! I’ve worked through about a third of the course and I’ve already learned so much!

My last blog goal is to find out about my audience. That’s you guys! I plan to create two surveys, one about my blog in general and one about marriage specifically. I’d love it if you would participate in these surveys to help me figure out what you want to see on the blog. Be looking for those on the blog in the coming weeks.

What are your personal goals for the month?
Thanks for reading!
