Thankful Thursday: Our Sefety

Today for Thankful Thursday I am thankful for…

My (and my family’s) Safety

This week has been very tragic for our country. First we had a terrible bombing in Boston. Three people were killed including an 8-year-old boy and 140 injured.

Last night, in Texas when a fertilizer plant exploded, at least 15 were killed, 160 injured and dozens of houses were destroyed.

Today, in ‘middle America’ overwhelming weather took over. Chicago had 7.25 inches of rain by 1 p.m. where the average rainfall for the month of April is 3.38 inches. The flood opened up a sink hole which could swallow up 3 cars. One man was badly injured and, no doubt, countless belongings and homes were destroyed.

Frankly, I am thankful that these things did not in Columbus, OH, Buford, GA, Searcy, AR or anywhere else that close friends or family of mine live. However, I know these places aren’t, by any means, immune to disasters or terrorism. Therefore, I am thankful that we live in this country. I am thankful we have great healthcare professionals, policemen, firefighters and just civilians who are willing to help others. In these cases cases, people were seen going towards the scenes to do what they can to help. This gives me hope for our country’s citizens.

I have been praying hard for everyone involved. I know God can heal physically and mentally. That is what these people need. This somehow makes my worries and problems seem small, how about you?
