Thankful Thursday: Cars

Today for Thankful Thursday I am thankful for…

Cars
While I love the Cars movies, that is not exactly what I am talking about in this post. I am thankful for cars that allow us to get around real easy. I mean, I have driven more than 6 hours to 3 (soon to be 4) different weddings, a funeral, a weekend of wedding showers, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Sing since we have been living here in Ohio away from old friends and family. Aren’t cars great? We can be there for our friends to support their marriage vows. We can be with family during holidays and through hard times. And we can have fun with friends on other special occasions because we have a car, interstates, roads, highways etc.
The furthest we have driven was 13 hours to Searcy, AR for Spring Sing. But going to Nana’s in Harrison. AR for Thanksgiving was a close second. Most people hate being in the car that long and look at me in disgust when I talk about it. And, I’ll be honest, towards the end of a 10+ hour drive I am pretty ready to get out of the car. But I really do usually enjoy the ride. I enjoy spending time with Pearson talking and playing games. I usually bring a book and only end up reading maybe one chapter. I also enjoy driving. There is not much that can match the feeling of driving down the open highway with nature all around you. However driving through big cities is another monster.
Anyway, I digress. I am thankful for Cars which so easily allow us to get around and be with people we love.
Thanks for reading!
