My 2014 Word of the Year

My 2014 Word of the Year

One of my good bloggy friends, Brooklyn, had the brilliant idea in the last few years to declare a “word of the year” to live by and focus on throughout the year {if you want to read about her words, here is 2013 and 2014}.

I thought this was such a wonderful idea that I wanted to try it myself. So, my word for 2014 is… TRUST.

Trusting is something I need to improve in my life. I need to trust God to take care of me. I need to turn to him first in time of need or distress. I need to stop worrying about the future. I sometimes have a hard time trusting my friends with my secrets and ultimately my heart. I need to trust myself to make decisions like a big girl. And I need to trust Pearson to love me forever like he promised. Honestly, I have gotten better about all of the above since I grew up, got married and moved 500+ miles away from everyone I knew, but it could still use some work.

So 2014 is going to be a year of trust. I will trust God, friends, and myself. My goal is that by the end of the year I will not think twice about praying over my worries and issues, I will put myself out there with friends and family and I will be more confident in myself to do things I would normally be hesitant about.

Please pray for me on this journey and join in if you would like.
What would your word be for 2014?
