You Know You Married a Genius When…

Recently, Samantha from Life Style Love Blog wrote a post aboit how she knows she is a hockey wife. Her husband is a hockey player and it runs their lives. I can appreciate her post because I played sports growing up and I know how much it takes over your life. I decided to do my own version because my husband is a genius and it comes out at home.

You know you married a genius when…
  1. Your husband complains about getting an A- in a really hard grad school class. AND that A- actually brings his GPA down.
  2. His undergrad training was in bio-CHEMISTRY and yet somehow he is killing it in the bio-PHYSICS graduate program! How does that even work?
  3. He gets more excited when some ‘famous’ scientist comes to town to give a speech than when fantastic artists come to town to preform.
  4. You spend most nights watching TV and blogging by yourself because he is still working in the lab or doing homework he has put off because he was working in the lab.
  5. He would rather read scientific papers than the latest young adult novel. Or any novel for that matter.
  6. And when he does read for pleasure, it is usually a textbook or something like extra histories of Middle Earth.
  7. He can go months without picking up the guitar but when he does, he can play all his latest favorite songs perfectly on the first try.
  8. He is the first person you ask about anything; Dates in history, how to spell something, a definition.
  9. His teachers single him out and tell him he is doing great in their class!
  10. He tells you long, elaborate stories about what he did in the lab that and expects you to understand all of it. (I just nod and smile.)
I am sure I am missing some good ones, but I think you get the idea. I am married to a genius. He wouldn’t admit that, but it’s the truth! And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
What kind of person are you married to?
Thanks for reading!
