Monthly Goals for September {2016}

Monthly Goals for September {2016}

Happy September! Y’all, this is going to be a great month, I can feel it! It’s going to be a month full of football, apple and pumpkin flavored things, cool weather, changing leaves, and I bet some sweaters, scarves, and boots will make their appearance this month. It’s also going to be a month of strict goal setting and successfully meeting those goals! I can’t wait!

  • Word of the Year:

My word of the year, for this year is present. A couple months ago, I decided to go an entire weekend without technology. Last month, I decided to make it a monthly occurrence.

So this past weekend was my “Technology Free” weekend. But I did a very bad job of it. However, I didn’t blog at all so that’s good. I’m going to try doing it earlier in the month this time like maybe the 16th through the 18th.

  • Spiritual:

I was pretty successful with my goal of getting up on time and using the First 5 app five times per week. This month, I’m going to continue that goal and also read through Proverbs again.

  • Physical:

Alright guys. It’s time to start making some real, measurable, and attainable goals in this area. No more “I’ll workout and eat better.” And I’m going to be completely honest with you readers and put it all out here.
I just read Reshaping it All by Candace Cameron Bure last week and it changed my entier attitude toward my body. Food is neither the enemy nor something to be enjoyed without limit. It’s simply there to fuel my body. But there’s no reason I can’t enjoy it along the way. Everything in moderation.
So my Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-based goal is to lose 30 pounds by Thanksgiving. Which means I will lose 10 pounds in September. That’s sort of crazy but it’s totally doable.
I’m going to drink 80 oz of water every day. I’m going to drink Shakeology every morning. I’m going to eat mostly lean protein and vegitables. I’m only going to eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m satisfied. I’m going to limit junk food and sweets to only one serving each on the weekends. I’m not completely depriving myself because that’s when I go crazy and binge. I’m going to do the Country Heat workout program and also go on long walks after dinner.
There might be another post on the blog this month about this section in more detail. Also, follow my fitness Instagram account for updates.

  • Mental:

Last month I set the goal to read The Two Towers (aff-and all following). It didn’t happen. In fact, I quit reading The Lord of the Rings altogether. I don’t know why it’s so hard to get into those books. I think it probably has to do with just my entire mood lately so I’m saving them for another time. Perhaps next year. I did however read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Girl on the Train, and Reshaping it All. That’s more than I’ve read in one month in a long time.

This month I’m going to read To Kill a Mockingbird and Boundaries in Marriage. Amberly and I have another collaboration post coming up that has to do with Boundaries in Marriage.

Look for a post tomorrow about my reading plan for the rest of the year!

  • Marriage:

So we only did one date from our date night bucket list last month. And we didn’t do any of our datebox (aff) dates either. Oops.

This month, I’m setting the same two goals: to knock two dates of our bucket list and do one of our dateboxes (aff).

  • Blog:

I didn’t get all my blog goals done last month.

This month, I’m going to continue working through a list of tasks I created last month. The list consists of things like working through courses, updating old pictures, applying for sponsored posts, scheduling social media posts outside of my own promoting etc.

I also want to reach 1,500 Twitter followers, 2,000 Instagram followers, and publish three posts per week.

  • Work:

I successfully went several full days without asking for help last month! I also did pretty well on bringing my lunch 3 days per week. I think I only didn’t achieve this one week.

This month I’m going to bring lunch 4 days per week. I also want to take the inicitiave and ask others what I can help them with and put myself out there. This past month, something I was working on was finished early (because I’m awesome and also because it was simple) and instead of bothering others and asking for more work, I just sort of read through documentationon my own. That’s not happening this month.

  • Personal/Other:

I will wake up on time and stick to my morning routine. More on that in a later post.

I will be in bed by 10:30 on weeknights.

We will only eat out on weekends.
I will not spend any of my personal spending money.

I will complete the project build happiness journal and participate in the group.

What are you goals for this month?

If you wrote a blog post about them, leave the link in the comments. Or just tell me about them. I really feel good about this one and think I can reach all my goals this month. And we can hold each other accountable. Let’s do this!
