My Reading Plan for the Rest of the Year

My Reading Plan for the Rest of the Year

Back in January of this year, I made a resolution to read 16 books in 2016. And 6 of those books had to be non-fiction. Besides my word of the year, that was the only year-long resolution I made. All my other goals have been monthly.

Well, we’re in the 9th month of the year and how is my progress? Well, I’ve only read 7. Oops. My resolution is not looking too good.

I was doing really well at the beginning of the year and then March came and my depression set in at the same time that I was trying to read The Lord of the Rings. That was not a great combination for me. You see, I’ve recently discovered that I’m not as into fantasy reading as I once was. I much prefer realistic fiction like The Girl on the Train.

Now, I’m not saying I don’t like fantasy at all or won’t ever read it again. I read The Cursed Child last month. And I might pick up The Lord of the Rings again. But not right now.

I decided to make a plan for the rest of the year and to put it on the blog for accountability and whatnot.

So, if you’re interested, here’s what I’ve read so far this year.

So, I have 3 more non-fiction and 6 more fiction books to go. Here is what I’m going to read for the rest of the year.

So there you have it. I think I’ll review the books on the blog after reading them but probably in a monthly “what I read this month” type of post. If you’d like to follow me along on Goodreads, pleas do!

What have you read this year and what are you planning to read the rest of the year? Did you make a resolution in this area?
Thanks for reading!
