8 Fantastic Small Businesses to Support this Holiday Season

8 Fantastic Small Businesses to Support this Holiday Season

*This post was updated on November 16, 2020.

Raise your hand if you have started Christmas shopping? It’s the only Christmas activity that I approve of before Thanksgiving! This year I’m really trying to support small businesses as much as I can with my Christmas shopping. When you buy from small businesses, you’re helping families with their own Christmas shopping rather than padding the pockets of rich CEOs.

So today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite small businesses and shops. Now, full disclosure. This isn’t one of those gift guides where I’ve tried a bunch of the same product and I’m telling you which one I think is the best. And I actually only have an affiliate link and code for one of the shops!

Instead, all of the small businesses I’m sharing today is owned by someone I consider a friend. I believe in every one of these products and I agree with all of their amazing, positive messages. I’m so proud of these people and it would mean the world to me if you could support them during this season!

Support small businesses this holiday season and help a family with their own Christmas shopping! Here are 8 of my favoite small businesses online!

My 8 Favorite Small Businesses on the Internet

Oh! And I’m including the any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals that I know about but be looking out in case there are others I don’t mention here!

ONE || Mary and Briiight

Etsy Shops: Mary and Briiight Handlettering

Mary is my sister-in-law but she is also a very talented hand-letterer (is that a word). She makes absolutely gorgeous pieces. Her Etsy shop lists several options that you can buy as is, add customization too, or she can make an entirely new piece! She will write any word, quote, lyric, scripture or anything you want! Oh and she just added these super cute gift tags to her shop too!

Last year, she hand-lettered 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and added our last name and wedding date. It’s on my gallery wall and I love it!!

TWO || The Candle Chemist

Etsy Shops: The Candle Chemist

Hillary is a real life friend of mine. Her husband was in grad school at Ohio State when Pearson was there and now he works for Intel too! They live right down the street from us and we always have a blast when we hang out. Anyway, she makes fantastic soy wax candles and sells them on Etsy! I love that she uses soy wax which is so much better for you than paraffin. She puts them in tin or glass jars AND she offers a refill program! Zero waste for the win!

I just bought some candles from her today to use as Christmas gifts!

THREE || Beyond the Magic

Small Businesses: Beyond the Magic Shop

I became blog-friends with Ali in the last couple years and she’s basically a fantastic human! For her small business, Ali makes t-shirts (and other things) using vinyl. Her creations are really unique and creative. I love everything she makes though I’ll admit helps that we happen to love all the same fandoms. But aside from the actual stuff she makes, I love her message. She started her shop because she had a hard time finding fun t-shirts out there in plus sizes. And when she did find something, it would cost more to get in plus sizes. So her shop is truly size-inclusive and that’s certainly something I can get behind!

Ali made the shirts that I bought for Pearson’s whole family when we went to Walt Disney World last year!

FOUR || The Artsy Cajun

Etsy Shops: The Artsy Cajun

Jessy and I have been blog-friends for several years now. We connected in a Christian bloggers group a long time ago and instantly hit it off. We now talk on Marco-Polo at least weekly. You guys! She is so talented! Her Etsy shop has housed several different types products over the years. She currently has only a couple monogram/sewing items in the shop but she has several gorgeous original paintings as well as prints she’s made from her paintings.

I have a few different infinity scarves she made, including one on which she embroidered my initials on.

FIVE || Good Grief Journals

Small Businesses: Good Grief Journals: My Infertility Journey

I’ve known of Sadie in the blogging world for a while now. She’s a very talented photographer. And then I met her in real life at SNAP! Conference this year. You guys. I am so touched by Sadie’s message and heart through her Good Grief Journals. She’s created these beautiful journals with prompts to help you work through your infertility journey or after a miscarriage. I love that this resources is out there. Sadie is a beautiful human.

I do not own any of her journals as I have never experienced either of those trials. However, I am interested in picking up her Mini Journal Workbook eventually. It’s not infertility or miscarriage specific.

2020 Black Friday Deal: All journals are marked down 15% off (no code necessary) and all orders over $70 ship free world wide! Through November 16th.

SIX || Romance Enhanced

Small Businesses: Romance Enhanced Consulting

Josie and I met on Instagram at some point in the last couple years because we both help people work on their romantic relationships. She is a romance coach/consultant. She works with people who feel they are lacking in the romance department by helping them plan romantic gifts and gestures for their spouse.

She also has a bunch of fun bedroom games on her website. We’ve played the football one and the luck of the Irish one. Both of which were a blast!

SEVEN || Starfall

*I am posting affiliate links for Starfall. If you purchase from my link, I might get a small comission. Read more in my disclosure page.

Small Businesses: Starfall: A Fashion Revolution. Inspired by You.

I was introduced to Callie a few years ago when she was a LuLaRoe consultant and she quickly became the only consultant I would buy from. Recently, she stepped away from LuLaRoe and created her own online boutique. Y’all. She’s killing it!

Somehow I’ve only purchased t-shirts from her new boutique but I’ve been completely happy with each of them!

Not for black Friday but, you can get 10% off your order using the code: CHARLENEMAUGERI

EIGHT || Prioritizing Date Night

Prioritizing Date Night in your Marriage

I’m sure you know of Amberly from A Prioritized Marriage. I mention her a lot on here because our messages are very similar. I finally met her in real life at SNAP! this year! Anyway, she doesn’t exactly have a shop, per se, but a couple years ago she created a wonderful eBook called Prioritizing Date Night in your Marriage. Since then, she’s revamped the book, recorded an audio version, and started printing physical copies!

I received the eBook for free as part of her launch team when she first released it but I have bought it one or two other times as gifts. And I am planning to purchase a physical copy eventually because it is just too good!

BONUS || Scavenger Hunt Date Nights

Scavenger Hunt Date Nights eBook cover on a Kindle

Alright I couldn’t let this post go without a little shameless self promotion. Toward the beginning of this year I created an eBook of scavenger hunts that you can do on date night! Pearson and I discovered the joy of incorporating a scavenger hunt in our date nights back in 2014. Then I discovered I’m pretty good at writing out scavenger hunts so I made a book out of it!

You can purchase the eBook from my website right here!

So there you go! My 8 most favorite small businesses to support! Again, I highly encourage you to shop small this season whenever you can!
