Liebster Award

Liebster Award

What an honor! Lacy from Chosen nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award! You should totally go check her out. She is a very inspirational blogger who loves our Savior and is not afraid to be herself. Thank you so much, Lacy for nominating me!

First, a little about the Liebster Award:
The word liebster is German for sweetheart or dearest. The award is given to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers who show potential. It is not given by judges or anything like that, but rather it is given by blogger peers based on your blogging personality. You can read more about it on Lacy’s blog here. And see where she nominated me here. And did I mention that she one of my favorite blogs to read? You should check her out.

So here is what I get to do now that I have been nominated:
  • Thank your nominator! Include a link back to their blog with your appreciation
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you by your nominator
  • Post 11 facts about yourself
  • Nominate 5-11 other up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers for the award–no tag backs!
  • Come up with your own set of 11 questions for your nominees to answer
  • Let your nominees know you nominated them so they can pass it on

Questions from Lacy:

Why do you blog?

When Pearson and I got married, we moved to Ohio which is at least 500 miles from our closest friends and family. I started my blog as just a means of documenting our new married life for our family and friends to read and keep up with us a little better than with just Facebook.

Is your main job blogging or do you have a “real job”?

I have a real job as a Quality Assurance Analyst for a computer software company.

If you could only eat one thing forever it would be____

Ooh. This is a tough question. I love food. I don’t know if I could pick just one. I could say some cop-out answer like chocolate, but that is boring.

Describe yourself in 6 words.
Christian, Wife, Musical, Loving, Nerdy, Friend

What is your cure for “bloggers block”?
I really don’t try to blog every day, so I don’t have a lot of trouble with blogger’s block. I have a few posts ideas waiting to be written that I keep track of. Those will hold me for a while. One of the places I get ideas, however is Twitter. I look back at my tweets to see whatever I have been thinking or doing and sometimes I can make a blog post out of it.

What is the best book you have ever read?
Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, hands down. If you haven’t read it, you NEED to right now!

Weird question: If you were something in nature ( tree, flower, cloud, star) what would you be and why?
I would want to be a cloud because I could watch down on everyone, but I could be seen and enjoyed even in brightly lit cities {unlike a star}, and people couldn’t cut me down for their own gain {like a tree}. I wouldn’t be stepped on and un-appreciated {like grass or flowers}.

What is your favorite kind of music and why?
Country Music because I was raised that way. And because I can understand the words. And I don’t know, I just like the music.

What has been your favorite trip to ever take?
This is a tough one. I would probably have to say the mission trip I went on to Nicaragua in 2008. It changed my life in such a good way. It made poverty more real in my mind. I was able to see and help those who don’t live in this wealthy country. I had always known we were very fortunate, but this trip made it more real in my mind.

Do you have a favorite lifetime memory? What is it?
My favorite memory was my wedding day. It really was the best day of my life. I should probably say the day I was baptized but honestly that is not my favorite memory. It is the day that changed my life the most, but the actual action was not as memorable as my wedding. Anyway, everything about my wedding was perfect and getting to spend the rest of my life with my best friend as a result of this day was just icing on the cake! {pun intended}.

If you had one day to do whatever you wanted, money is no object, what would you do? Why?
Only one day? That is not enough time! I guess I would fly to NYC and see as many Broadway shows as I could in one day. Which would only be 2. If I went on a Saturday. Hmmm….. Maybe I should change my answer. But I really can’t think of anything else I would rather do in just one day.
